As summer draws to a close, it is hard to believe that we have now gone almost two full years without any volunteers. COVID-19 has reshaped our lives, but our commitment to the Oglala Lakota people remains.

After a few days of rest, we are back to work as we pass the halfway point of the “summer season” here at Re-Member. Despite remaining closed to volunteers due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, our staff has remained (very) busy.

Last week, the Oglala Sioux Tribe released guidelines for volunteer organizations to resume operations on Pine Ridge. As we work to implement these protocols, we are announcing today that all existing August and September trips will be cancelled.
