May Update

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our annual Growing Tuesday fundraiser in support of our gardens at Feather II. We are excited to share that we have exceeded our $40,000 goal! If you haven't had a chance to offer your support, we still welcome your gift as we continue to grow the program every day. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Feather II this summer!

Earlier this month we relaunched our Wičóuŋčaġe (Way of Life) program. Under the guidance of Kelly and Suzie Looking Horse, dozens of volunteers will travel around the reservation and the region. They will hear from various speakers, and visit significant sites, while learning more about Lakota culture and the history of the reservation. This experience, designed specifically for returning volunteers, was first led by the late Cornell Conroy more than ten years ago. Thanks to Kelly and Suzie for helping us bring this wonderful program back! We hope to offer it again in 2027.

We are already nearly a third of the way through our volunteer season and have been hard at work out in the community. This week our volunteers skirted a trailer, built a ramp, prepped and planted in our gardens, built beds in our shop and installed four outhouses around the reservation. This work will continue throughout the summer and into the fall as we hustle to complete projects and fulfill requests made by the community.

SUPPORT THE PROGRAM...AND GARDEN: SHOP OUR AMAZON WISHLISTS

Re-Member’s Amazon Wishlist is a great way to support our program and the Oglala Lakota people. Your gift allows us to redirect funds to where they are needed most in the community, while still meeting everyday programming needs.

We are excited to share our new Garden Wishlist. Items on this list are specific to our gardens, and support the work we are doing at Feather II. This list will be consistently updated by our garden staff as we prepare for the coming growing season.

We are grateful to everyone who joins us to volunteer, and also for those of you who provide financial support for our various programs. The busy summer season is just around the corner, with hundreds of volunteers coming in the weeks and months ahead. The Re-Member team comes together every day to address immediate needs and invest in the local community. Thank you for making it all possible!

When 'ya coming?

Sincerely,
