Introducing Re-Member's New Program Director
Re-Member is continuing the process of evolving our leadership structure to better support our operational and strategic goals.
Next year, the current Executive Director’s position will transition into a full-time Program Director role. This position will manage the on-the-ground responsibilities that define Re-Member’s mission. The Program Director will engage directly with the community, welcome and support volunteers, ensure our garden, winter heating, and home improvement programs continue to thrive, respond to urgent community needs, and oversee the various operational details that make our work possible.
We are excited to announce that following a comprehensive search process, senior staff have recommended, and the Board has affirmed the hiring of David Strobbe. David will be arriving at Re-Member June 6 for a months-long period of on-the-job training. He will work alongside Executive Director Will Paese through the rest of the year, and assume the Program Director role effective January 1, 2027.

David first visited the Pine Ridge Reservation as a 10-year-old volunteer with Re-Member. He has a long history with the organization since then including working as a Program Supervisor in 2018, 2019, 2023, and 2025.
“There are few places left in today’s world where authenticity, compassion, and community can be felt, but I believe that Re-Member is one,” says David. “I promise to do everything in my power to build on the foundation of all the dedicated community members, staff and volunteers who came before me. The futures of Re-Member, the Pine Ridge Reservation, and the Lakota people are bright.”
It is with great optimism that we welcome David and his wife Megan as they settle in over the coming months. You can expect to hear directly from David as the summer progresses.
The second part of our evolving leadership structure is the establishment of a Chief Executive Officer position. This new role will oversee the organization’s fiduciary responsibilities, organizational strategy, fundraising, external relations, senior staff and serve as the liaison to the Board. That process is underway and we look forward to sharing news concerning this position in a future communication.
With Gratitude,
Dan Peters
