September Update
Our volunteer season is winding down, but there's still much to share this month.
Volunteers have been hard at work in the workshop, and across the reservation. We are harvesting large quantities of produce out of our gardens almost daily. Potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, pumpkins and various herbs have been harvested recently. Squash are especially abundant! We are growing many types: Hubbard, yellow, acorn, butternut and more.
We will continue distributing veggies for the duration of the growing season. The Veggie Wagon will be out and about over the next several weeks, providing fresh local food to folks across the reservation. We also plan to host our first Harvest Festival on Wednesday, October 7. This event is an opportunity to celebrate the continued growth of our gardens with the community, our staff, friends and partners!
Of course, the most important work we do is accomplished in conversation with the community. Hearing from local speakers and cultural presenters, enjoying a meal and a time together during our Wednesday night Community Dinner, attending a powwow, taking the time to step back and slow down. To challenge ourselves to step into the discomfort of un-knowing. Allowing our thoughts, opinions and actions to be informed not by our impulse, but by the people who know this place and what is going on here best – the community. There are so many people who pour themselves into our program and we are grateful for all of them!
RE-MEMBER ON THE ROAD: COMING SOON TO MINNEAPOLIS, MN!
We are hitting the road to visit folks in the greater Minneapolis area on Wednesday, September 9. Join our new Program Director, David Strobbe and former Executive Director, Cory True, to visit and learn more about current happenings on the reservation. Enjoy the company of fellow Re-Member volunteers over lite bites and sips.

We are thrilled to have hosted almost 700 volunteers this season. The most since the reservation-wide COVID shutdown from 2020-2022. It is the people who make our program possible. We appreciate all those who have joined us this season and those who continue to offer their support. Thank you for keeping up with the Re-Member story!
Gratefully,
Will Paese
