Many Forms of Generosity, Each Equally Appreciated

Support for Re-Member and for the Oglala Lakota people we serve comes in many forms, ranging from online donations to multi-year commitments to fundraising 5Ks and from $5 to 5 figures. All of the support, though, is deeply appreciated and serves to improve the quality of life on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Give Directly with Cash, Check, or Card

Without donations from our generous supporters, Re-Member could not do the work it does to improve the quality of life on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Donations made via credit or debit card, cash, or check can be put to immediate use to help the Oglala Lakota Nation and advance our organization. If you’d like to make a gift in honor or in memory of a loved one, please utilize the comment section of the gift form. A card will be mailed to an individual that you specify.

Gifts can be directed to either our General Fund, the completion of our new Feather II facility, our Winter Heating Assistance Program, or our Community Garden Program. Donations of any amount make a meaningful difference. Many donors choose to make gifts to our General Fund that will pay for one or more of our construction projects.

Gifts can be made by mailing a check or money order (payable to Re-Member) to our administrative office in Pine Ridge, calling Director of Finance and Administration, Jennifer Sklener at (616) 634-5921, or using our online donation tool.

Set Up a Recurring Gift

Become a member of our Tiospaye Circle — our extended family — with your recurring gift. Contributions are convenient for donors and allows us to focus on our work instead of fundraising!

Donors who commit to recurring gifts are recognized as members of the Tiospaye Circle.

Donors who commit to weekly, bi-weekly, every four weeks, monthly, quarterly, or annual gifts are recognized as members of the Tiospaye Circle donor program and receive a personalized yearly tax summary and gift receipt.

Members may change or stop their recurring gift at any time. For more information about participation in our Tiospaye Circle program, please contact Director of Finance and Administration, Jennifer Sklener.

Donate Stocks and Securities

A gift of stock may provide more benefits than a cash gift. A gift of stock may be right for you if you are holding stocks that have risen in value and you have held for a year. By using these securities as a gift, you can avoid the capital gains tax on any profit.

Download the form below for transferring stocks and securities. Contact your broker or advisor and provide Re-Member’s account information. Then send this completed form to our Director of Finance and Administration, Jennifer Sklener. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer at (616) 634-5921.

Give A Gift Through Your Donor-Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is like a charitable investment account for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about.

When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor-advised fund through an investment advisor or a local community foundation, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds can be invested for tax-free growth, and you can recommend grants to virtually any IRS-qualified public charity.

There are many benefits of setting up a DAF and supporting Re-Member through your disbursements: easily contribute a wide range of assets, maximize your tax benefits, invest your donation for tax-free growth, simplify your recordkeeping, and support your legacy planning.

Have Your Gift Matched

Many employers match donations and/or volunteer hours given by their employees or employees’ spouses, doubling or even tripling the impact of your generosity. Please check with your human resources office to find out if your employer is one of them.

Matching contributions from employers can double or even triple the impact of your gift to Re-Member.

After making your donation to Re-Member, request and complete a matching gift form and send it to:

Re-Member
PO Box 5054
Pine Ridge, SD 57770

Please contact our Director of Finance and Administration, Jennifer Sklener with any questions.

Plan an Estate Gift

Estate gifts or planned gifts are donations that provide beyond your lifetime. This powerful kind of philanthropy establishes an indelible legacy of support for Re-Member and the Oglala Lakota people. Planned gifts can take many forms — from simple bequests in your will or living trust to naming Re-Member as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy.

A bequest can be made in several ways:

  • You can gift a specific dollar amount or asset

  • You can gift a percentage of your estate

  • You can gift from the balance or residue of your estate

  • You can make a beneficiary designation of certain assets

To learn more about documenting a planned gift to Re-Member, please contact Director of Finance and Grants Jennifer Sklener.
