November Update

The first snowflakes have come and gone this fall, as the days become shorter, and the nights turn colder. During the first week of our winter heating season last month, the staff provided 45 deliveries of wood and drove 1,041 miles over the course of our four-day work week. It is a team effort rooted in compassion and determination to support hundreds of families over the course of the months-long heating season.

Throughout the winter, when we suspend our volunteer program, the essential work we do in providing the gift of warmth is only possible thanks to the generosity of many who support our work from afar.

With the busy holiday season ahead of us, please read on to learn more about how you can lend your support in the coming weeks, and plan for a visit to Pine Ridge in 2023.

Save The Date: Give The Gift of Warmth on “Giving Tuesday”

Please save the date for Tuesday, November 29 as we fill the trucks with your generosity during our annual Giving Tuesday fundraiser for winter heating assistance! More details to come in the weeks ahead.

  • Learn more about the program, and be an early supporter with your gift today by visiting our website.

Alternative Gift Giving Options

We encourage you to consider our alternative gift giving options this holiday season. Make a contribution to Re-Member in honor of a friend or loved one, and Re-Member will send a personalized card to the recipient, acknowledging your gift.

You can also shop Re-Member’s online store for beautiful handcrafted items from many Oglala Lakota artisans. Your purchase directly supports the artists of Pine Ridge, and Re-Member’s work across the reservation. Shop early to avoid any potential shipping delays as the holidays approach!

Amazon Smile: You Shop - Amazon Gives

If you are shopping Amazon for the holidays, be sure that you have designated an Amazon Smile charity of your choosing. All eligible purchases can generate a donation for Re-Member, at no additional cost to you! You can also now designate a charity in your Amazon mobile app.
